If you want an unforgettable day on your holiday, you must join us for an excursion to enjoy the original tastes of Kefalonia.
Firstly, we will explore the Capital of the Island. Starting a walking tour from the Grocery Open Market, where local producers sell their goods. A short stop at the landmark of Argostoli – De Bosset Stone Bridge and continue to the Cooking Demonstration of the traditional sweet “MANDOLA” (Baked Almond with caramelized pink candy). Stroll the pedestrian walkway with all the main shopping areas to purchase a souvenir. At the end of our walking tour, we will meet up with our bus for our next stop, The Olive Oil Factory.
You will have the chance to taste the local extra-virgin olive oil while the producers explain all the details about the olive harvest, the varieties of the local olive trees, and the machines and procedures they follow in the olive press to maintain quality and produce biologically. You will taste the olive oil with bread, oregano, and tomato (riganada).
Saving the best for the last with our visit to the Co-operating Wine Factory in the Omala Valley. You will be greeted by a wine-specialist member of the staff, who for the next 60 minutes will guide you through the history of viticulture on the island, the modern-day wine-making practices, and the grape varieties that are cultivated on the island, and you will have the opportunity to taste and buy different local wines.
Fulfilled by experiences, we return to your accommodation.
